Bonus Energy Incentives for Contractors

In case you missed it, Xcel Energy recently shared updates to its Residential New Home Construction Program, which supports the transition to high performance, all electric homes across Colorado. Builders can access larger rebates, design support, and training, while future homeowners benefit from healthier, quieter and more efficient homes.

Homes must be fully electric with no gas lines and meet both ENERGY STAR NextGen and DOE Efficient New Home standards. The program offers a streamlined rebate structure that now includes a base incentive plus a limited time Clean Heat bonus. Ground source heat pumps may qualify for an additional incentive. Rebates can be reserved ahead of construction and remain valid for two years.

For affordable housing partners, Xcel Energy provides higher incentive levels for homes that achieve PHIUS CORE certification. These projects can receive up to forty thousand dollars when the Clean Heat bonus applies along with a possible geothermal add on.

The presentation also included an update on the Mountain Energy Project. This initiative focuses on solutions that help reduce gas system demand and support electrification in mountain communities. Residents in eligible ZIP codes, including Breckenridge, can access additional rebates for heat pumps, heat pump water heaters, insulation and energy audits.
