Business Science Workshop Series

The Breckenridge Town Council adopted the Summit Community Climate Action Plan in 2018 which identified a series of strategies to help reduce greenhouse gas emissions 50 percent by 2030 and 80 percent by 2050. In 2021, the Town implemented the Zero Energy Ready Homes program administered by the Department of Energy as a strategy to achieve 21 percent reduction in building emissions by 2030.

As part of the training period allowed by the ordinance, a series of workshops was created to help educate the building, design, and contractor community. The first of the workshops took place in early 2021 and recordings from those sessions can be found here. A new series on building science is slated to begin in January 2022. Topics include demystifying the energy model, HRVs and ERVs, and a deep dive into continuous insulation. Professionals from the building energy sector will walk attendees through various topics and help answer questions in an effort to advance the ZERH program.
