Can't get solar on your home or condo's roof? Sign up for a solar garden subscription!
What is a solar garden? A solar garden is one solar option for people to support local clean energy regardless of whether a person rents or owns their home.
The Town of Breckenridge has two community solar gardens that have been fully subscribed to for several years. While these community solar gardens are fully subscribed, new solar gardens are consistently being built across Colorado, providing the opportunity to subscribe to the energy they produce.
To subscribe to a solar garden, you will need to reach out to contract with a third-party solar developer. Each deal is a little different depending on the developer, but typically you'll realize some cost savings through a bill credit on your utility bill, all while helping support local clean energy!
US Solar is a solar developer that is actively recruiting residential subscribers in our area. US Solar is offering a $100 account credit as a sign-up bonus, as well as making a $50 donation to High Country Conservation Center, for every resident that signs up using the promo code "Town of Breckenridge". There are no upfront costs to join, no cancellation fees, and you're guaranteed 5% savings on your bill credit rate. To find out more click the US Solar logo here:
Other solar developers working in the region include SunShare, and Pivot Energy, among others. Xcel Energy offers some helpful information on how to navigate the option that is the best fit for you!
