Breckenridge Building Energy Code 2026 Workshops

After passing second reading at the 11/25/2025 council meeting, The Town of Breckenridge has officially adopted its new building energy codes. The Town, in partnership with High Country Conservation Center, continue to host its building energy workshop series intended for local architects, energy raters, builders, and trade contractors. See schedule below. Note that local funding for workforce development (scholarship for trainings and equipment) is still available!

Breakfast and coffee will be provided at all workshops. All workshops will be recorded and Spanish translations will be available. So we have an accurate headcount for food, we ask attendees to please register in advance using this link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/codes-2026


1. State Model Electric Ready and Solar Ready Code overview + ToB Building Department & Red, White, and Blue Fire code presentation | Thursday, January 15 | 8:30 - 11:30 AM.

Breckenridge Town Hall Council Chambers | 150 Ski Hill Rd., Breckenridge, CO. Note the different venue highlighted above, and also that there is very limited parking at Town Hall. Attendees are highly encouraged to use the Free Ride bus or other alternative transportation.

From 8:30-10:30, Code consultant Shaunna Mozingo will review the state's Model Electric Ready and Solar Ready codes, and how they apply in Breckenridge with the recent adoption. Then at 10:30a, Breckenridge's Deputy Building Official and RWB Fire will present on all of the different I-codes. Come prepared to ask all your questions about complying with the new codes!


2. Thermal Bridging & Continuous Insulation | Thursday, February 12 | 8:30 - 10:30 AM

Hopeful/Discovery Rooms, South Branch Library | 103 Harris St, Breckenridge
