New Energy Code Adoption - 5/6 Stakeholder Meeting

On Tuesday 5/6/2025, the Town of Breckenridge hosted a stakeholder meeting to discuss and get input regarding the planned adoption for new building energy codes.
The next stakeholder meeting is on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, from 2:30 pm - 4:00 pm.
There was a recap and update from the last roundtable meeting on 4/17. A brief overview of both model codes was provided. During the meeting there was an update on state legislation, and a discussion on what to bring over from State Model Low Energy and Carbon Code. Colorado's Model Electric Ready and Solar Ready Code must be adopted as a minimum. During the meeting there was discussion around house sizes and how different house sizes will be affected by code. Updates on other programs such as ICC and AIA Learning Units, including DORA were on the meeting's agenda.
