Recycling Guidelines

Contamination is a term for bad materials ending up in the recycling stream. A contaminated load can ruin other recyclables. Something as simple as a plastic bag can throw the whole system out of whack. Don't be a wishful recycler - know about what you throw.

All materials recycled curbside in Breckenridge are transported to the Summit County Resource Allocation Park (SCRAP, also the landfill), where it is baled and transported to Denver for further sorting and sale. Materials are shipped to markets all over the United States to be made into new products.
