Play ball! Evening sports are returning to the Kingdom Park ball fields with lighting replacement and upgrades.
The 30-year-old high pressure sodium lights have been replaced with Musco LEDs which provide a direct and brighter light with drastic improvement in minimizing light spilling to surrounding areas and neighborhoods. The new system provides considerable energy savings, using approximately seven times less energy than the previous lights. Also, the lumens will measure twice as much as before and uplighting will improve the experience for fielders when finding fly balls. Lighting has been replaced on both fields and the project should be completed by June 1.
Local sports leagues and other users have been waiting for these improvements for several years -- we're looking for some exciting feedback by the end of summer 2022.
