State Tax Credit for EVs Set to Expire

December 31, 2020 is the last day to qualify for the State of Colorado's $4,000 tax credit for electric vehicles. After that deadline, the state credit will drop to $2,500 or $1,500 to lease. The Federal tax credit

The Colorado Public Utilities Commission recently approved Xcel Energy's Transportation Electrification Plan which proposes $100M in transportation electrification incentives, programs, and infrastructure to expand electric vehicles across Colorado. In that proposal is an ambitious utility rebate for customers purchasing EVs which could help offset the state's phasing out of the tax credit.
